trane-warner-serviceAccording to the company’s history fact sheet, a “Trane air conditioning [unit] is installed every minute of every day.” Why is this?

It’s because Trane is different than other air conditioning manufacturers. Warner Service knows their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and energy efficiency is worthwhile.

Trane knows the industry. Trane has been providing reliable HVAC equipment for more than 120 years, after founder James Trane, a Norway native, opened a plumbing shop in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Since then, Trane has shifted focus, dominated the basics of the heating and cooling industry, and consistently stayed ahead of the curve through testing and implementing new technology for homes and commercial buildings.

They stand behind their product. One of the biggest pillars behind the Warner name is our commitment to our work and customers. We don’t walk away when the job is finished, and neither does Trane.

Every Trane residential unit comes with a Base Limited Warranty, which covers parts that break due to manufacturer defect from 1 to 20 years, depending on the product. However, it doesn't cover the cost of labor.

If you register your product within 60 days of installation, it's under Registered Limited Warranty at no additional cost.

Registered Limited Warranty ranges from 5 years to life, depending on the product. Registration is completed online or by phone and isn't required for all states and provinces.

Homeowners can purchase Extended Warranty, which includes the “option to purchase coverage in 5- or 10-year increments,” even though renewal is at the sole option of Trane Standard Warranty Company, according to Berkun Air Conditioning.

Extended Warranty covers “parts only or parts and labor for the duration of the agreement. The option to purchase coverage on equipment that has been installed for less than 5 years is also available” while some restrictions apply.

Trane has a substantial and impressive “reputation for reliability, high quality, product innovation, and a powerful distribution network,” according to their website. They cover you from start to finish.

Trane cares about energy efficient heating and cooling. Most companies throw eco-friendliness around, but Trane understands what it means to be truly productive and economical.

In 1987, the Montreal Protocol, the first environmental treaty, was adopted to restrict the production, consumption, and trade of harmful substances in order to protect the rapidly depleting ozone layer.

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), a class of compounds of carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine that are used in refrigerants for air conditioning equipment, had the most significant, direct impact on ozone-layer depletion.

As a result, developed countries, including the United States, abandoned the production of CFCs by the end of 1995. The substance was replaced by hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), a large group of compounds with a close structure to CFCs, but including one or more hydrogen atoms.

HCFCs were later restricted by the Montreal Protocol and are to be phased out entirely from new air conditioning and refrigeration equipment by 2040, according to Daikin, a global air conditioner manufacturing company.

In an effort to help the Montreal Protocol, Trane noticed that “almost 74 percent of HVAC systems have an improper amount of refrigerant, which...impact” the environment negatively.

Trane uses R-123, a low-pressure, high efficiency refrigerant, as an alternative to HCFCs. According to Trane’s brochure, “the U.S. Green Building Council supports the use of R-123” on conditions following LEED certifications.

While R-123 is currently the best environmental choice for refrigerant, Trane continues "to evaluate alternative refrigerants as they become...available. Our chillers will continue to use whatever refrigerant delivers the...lowest environmental impact.”

This promise demonstrates how Trane HVAC systems are “designed to achieve maximum efficiency, reliability and comfort, delivering the efficiency its ratings promise and customers expect.”
