What is Nexia Home Intelligence? What is the difference between ComfortLink™ or ComfortLink™ II?

Simply put, it is Trane's solution to homeowners’ calls for lower energy bills and better HVAC circulation. According to Trane’s website, Nexia is whole-home automation “with the freedom of remote home management, giving you total control of the comfort, efficiency and security of your home from anywhere.” Here is Warner Service’s rundown on how Trane’s Nexia control and ComfortLink™ thermostat technology will work in your home:

  • About Nexia™ Home Intelligence: Trane partnered with Schlage®, the trusted leader in home security for more than 90 years, to create a simple-to-use internet-enabled home automation system that lets homeowners remotely adjust temperature, monitor security by computer or WiFi-enabled cell phones, and more.

  • About ComfortLink™ or ComfortLink™ II: The thermostat technology is designed to work in conjunction with Nexia Home Intelligence and a matched indoor heating or cooling unit, like the Trane XV20i Variable Speed or Trane XL18i Heat Pump, for complete, seamless comfort and energy optimization over time. The difference between the two is hardly noticeable and depends on which products you hook up the control with.

  • About the Schlage® Home Security Kit: According to Trane, homeowners can connect all of the components of ComfortLink™ thermostat technology and Nexia™ control with Schlage® Home Security Kit for the smartest in home security. Homeowners will be able to:

    • Control temperature settings and manage energy use
    • Allow entry to your home when you are away through the Schlage® Home Keypad, which requires no wiring, comes with night mode, and offers a 3-year battery life
    • Assign up to 19 private four-digit codes for family members
    • Receive instant texts and email alerts when codes are used through Nexia™ Bridge, which communicates wirelessly with up to 232 compatible devices
